This March, the National Association of Police Athletic/Activities Leagues Inc. (National PAL) announced the results of its first-ever PAL Photo of the Year contest - and DSAL made it into the final round as one of the top five finalists!

New murals adorn the hallways at the Hayward Adult School thanks to artist Suzanne Gayle. The murals depict a DSAL boxer whose powerful punch toward a giant dandelion puff, sending its seeds drifting down the corridor toward a youth in boxing shorts, who in turn, raises his glove to meet them. Beyond our boxers, a meadow of yellow flowers bloom.

Five months ago, Aiden showed up to his first soccer practice a little shy, not knowing many people, and unsure of what to expect. Today he's making friends easily, trying new skills without hesitation, and discovering something important about himself: the more he applies himself, the prouder he feels.
