SUMMER CAMP

Summer can be a challenge for youth and families alike. Six weeks of unstructured time can quickly turn into screens, idleness, and missed opportunities for growth. Young people thrive when given structure, community, and something to look forward to, and DSAL Summer Camp delivers by providing a safe, supportive environment where kids can channel their energy, form genuine friendships, and grow under the guidance of coaches and mentors who are invested in who they are becoming.

Through team sports, cooperative activities, and shared daily experiences, campers develop the social and emotional skills that shape how they work as a team, handle conflict, bounce back from hard moments, and show up for others.

For families in Alameda County, knowing their child is safe, engaged, and thriving gives parents and caregivers the peace of mind to go to work, meet their own obligations, and keep their households stable. For many participants, DSAL Summer Camp is one of the few structured, free summer options available in their community - one that builds confidence, belonging, and the kind of lifelong wellness habits that follow young people well into adulthood.

New Programming Coming Soon!

Donations help us pay our coaches a fair wage, while they supervise the youth in our programs.  If you can contribute to support our free programming, it goes a long way in helping us offer services to more youth.  Every bit helps, and your donations are tax deductible!

Our Free Sports & Fitness Camps reach capacity every year.   We are working to expand our programs so we can include more youth and we need YOUR help.

Giving kids a way to exercise and socialize is more important now than ever before. And yet, camps are expensive and often not accessible, which is why so many kids end up waitlisted.

Please take a few minutes to complete a simple survey to let us know if you are having trouble accessing free or low-cost camps for your kids.

ON THE GREEN - GOLF & PLAY CAMP

Our Golf Camp for kids 10-16 was presented in partnership with Corica Park.  Kids had the opportunity to work on their golf skills and get coached by both PGA certified and collegiate level golf instructors. Transportation was provided to and from the course, and breakfast & lunch were provided.  This program has a low coach-to-camper ratio, providing a focus on youth development.  Activities include Foot-golf, Disc-golf, and other games.
