DSAL Staff

As we move through another year of serving our community, we want to acknowledge that the work you do matters profoundly. It doesn't go unnoticed, and it is never taken for granted.

This past year, you've shown up consistently to build the kind of relationships that change lives.

You've welcomed shy youth who didn't know where they belonged and helped them discover their confidence. You've celebrated goals scored and personal records broken, alongside the important but quiet victories: a student improving attendance and grades, a participant learning to manage conflict without fighting, a young person finally feeling like they have adults in their life who have their back.

You've created spaces where families feel safe bringing their children, where multiple generations gather to stay active together, and where our community's youth learn that discipline, respect, and hard work can open doors for them. The bonds you've built extend far beyond practice sessions - you are mentors and role models who strengthen the fabric of Ashland and Cherryland in ways that are immeasurable.

You balance tight schedules, manage diverse needs, and go above and beyond what's asked - investing extra time with a struggling athlete, organizing community cleanups, stepping up for neighborhood initiatives, or simply being present when a young person needs someone to listen. You show up on rainy days. You adapt when plans change. You invest your energy and heart into this work because you believe in what we're building together.

The impact of your dedication shows up powerfully in the stories our participants share with us. About learning to give and receive hugs. About making their first real friends. About feeling stronger, safer, and more hopeful about their future. About discovering they matter.

And it's extraordinary.

Thank you for your commitment to our youth, your care for our community, and your partnership in making DSAL not just a program, but a lifeline for the people we serve. Your work is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.

With gratitude and respect,

🖤💙💛
