REACH Champion Brody Bauer

Brody joined DSAL’s Recreation program at REACH this past summer, following in the footsteps of his older sister, who had been a member for two years. Inspired by her experiences, he approaches every activity with curiosity, energy, and a willingness to challenge himself.

From one-handed cartwheels to new workouts, cooking, media, and library activities, Brody dives into everything REACH has to offer, and often encourages his friends to join him.

“Many of my friends also go to REACH and we all try out different programs. I really like being with them outside the classroom and experiencing new things with them."

His enthusiasm has translated into tangible growth. Brody is more focused during activities, maintains a healthier body, and has gained energy and confidence.

“My coach is always talking about good sportsmanship, self-esteem, and the importance of setting healthy goals. I try and give it my all even if I'm not the fastest or strongest in the class.”

Brody has taken these lessons to heart, learning to measure success by his own progress, celebrate personal achievements, and support his peers as they grow.

His commitment has created a ripple effect: friends are inspired to try new activities, and his sister’s example continues to motivate him to push further. Through coaching, structure, and a supportive community, Brody is building focus, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging, proving that dedication and positive energy can transform potential into achievement.
