Muevete Champion Nancy Walker

Nancy knows what it means to show up for the people she loves, and do what it takes. For years, life brought challenges that called on her deepest reserves of strength and dedication, and she rose to the challenge again and again.

Then, last April, she made a decision: it was time to provide that level of care for herself - time to prioritize her health.

She attended Muévete for the first time with her knees aching, but also the determination to grow stronger. With each session Instructor Angie noted that Nancy was improving, as was the pain in her knees, and she showed great resilience.

One year later, her transformation is powerful and impressive.

"This program helped me in my process to lose weight - to be exact, 57 pounds in one year! - plus I feel great, am without pain in my body, and have more energy. It feels good to be in this body, and it feels good to move it."

Instructor Angie's approach - encouraging participants to move at their own pace, listen to their bodies, have fun, and progress without pressure - created the conditions for Nancy to succeed on her own terms, and Nancy showed up for herself with the same dedication she'd always given to others.

"The great thing about this class is everybody does it at their own skill level. Few can keep up with Angie! I didn't feel pressure. I just learned and moved at my own pace, listening to my body - as Angie always recommends."

Her physical transformation is remarkable, and the benefits Nancy is experiencing extend beyond it as well. She speaks openly about what consistent movement, joyful music, and a supportive community of women have meant to her during a period of significant personal loss.

"It has helped me move through the grief of losing my partner in 2023 and my closest friend in 2025. It has helped me achieve a level of self-care that I'm proud of, and worry less about aging."

When life brings loss, having somewhere to go - somewhere with open arms, music that gets your energy up, and people who are genuinely glad to see you is huge, and healing.

"I look forward to coming to class - the happiest greetings from the ladies, and a hug from Angie. The energy of the group is empowering and joyful. It helps to be a community engaging in self-care, and caring for each other."

Knowing others could benefit from such a supportive group, Nancy has already brought four friends into the program with her, expanding the circle of women in her community who are choosing to invest time and energy into their own health and wellbeing, and receiving joy and community support in return.

"I feel better about my body, my health, and my life. I'm happy to feel healthy and strong as I turn 64."

Today, Nancy is stronger, lighter, and more at peace than she has been in years. She has processed emotions, eliminated chronic pain, lost 57 pounds, made new friends, and built a daily practice of self-care that she is genuinely proud of.

She came to Muévete after a chapter of life that demanded everything she had. What she found is a community that has helped her to rebuild her stamina, focus on self-care, and experience the joy of being fully, powerfully present in her own life.

Nancy has always had the will. Now she has the energy, the health, and the community to match it.
