Muevete Champion Jessica Guadalupe Rodriguez

When Jessica first joined the Muévete program more than a year ago, she was navigating difficult circumstances that left her feeling withdrawn and disconnected. But with her determination to move forward, and the support of the Muévete community, Jessica found her strength again.

Her transformation has been remarkable. She has gained confidence, energy, and rediscovered joy.

“I was going through a very hard time, and this class helped me to stay strong in those moments. It helped me believe more in myself, motivated me to reach my goals, and feel better about my weight.”

Our coach Angie has been honored to witness Jessica’s journey firsthand. She has seen how Jessica’s outlook on life has shifted dramatically. Once quiet and reserved, Jessica is now cheerful, outgoing, and surrounded by community.

“I feel like a brand new person. I’m healthy, happy, confident, and I don’t experience depression anymore.”

A welcoming environment has been central to that growth.

“I love everything - my teacher, my classmates, the way everyone treats each other like family. Angie treats us all equally, with kindness and encouragement. That makes all the difference. It has helped me gain trust with new people again.”

She also recognizes how far the benefits reach.

“This program helps the community to be active and productive, to feel less stress, and to get to know each other. It helps builds stronger neighborhoods.”

Her journey highlights the powerful outcomes that Muévete delivers: improved health, reduced stress, stronger social bonds, and safer, more engaged communities. For Jessica, and so many others, Muévete is not just a fitness class, but a place of healing, growth, and connection.

“I can’t miss class now because I love it so much. This program changed my life in so many ways.”

Her story is a reminder that programs like Muévete don’t just strengthen individuals - they help heal the fabric of our communities.
