DIG DEEP FARMS
Dig Deep Farms currently operates six farms and provides daily relief for those experiencing food insecurity.
Our farms use regenerative agriculture practices, which are contributing significantly to climate action goals as this style of agriculture sequesters more carbon from the atmosphere than any other type of agriculture.

Food Hub Farm is located in the San Leandro Hills and has been open since January 2020. Firehouse and Greenhouse Farms are located in the flatlands, and City View Farm resides in the hills of San Leandro.
OUR FARMS
FIREHOUSE FARM
We first began to grow vegetables on the Firehouse parcel, located next to Alameda County Firehouse #24, at 1432 164th Avenue, in Ashland.
The Firehouse parcel is one of our most productive farm spaces and is a result of the partnership with the Alameda County Fire Department.

The impact of the Firehouse parcel has cascaded into the creation of five additional DSAL farms and continues to provide our least served with healthy, balanced food.
GREENHOUSE FARM
We grow vegetables at our Greenhouse Farm, located in Ashland behind the Pacific Apparel Clothing Store located on East 14th Street at the corner of 163rd Avenue.
The Greenhouse Farm started out as a forgotten gravel-filled piece of land, covered with tall weeds. In our first planting season, with the help of the Hayward Area Recreation District, we turned the uninhabitable area into a thriving vegetable garden complete with raised beds. We have a greenhouse, as well as raised beds for DDF to propagate its own starter plants that populate our other farm locations.
This site is made possible by the generosity of the owners of Pacific Apparel.
CITY VIEW FARM
City View is located on land owned by Alameda County in the San Leandro hills next to Camp Sweeney, an Alameda County Juvenile Justice facility.
In collaboration with the Alameda County General Services Agency, the Alameda County Sheriffs’ Office and the Alameda County Probation Department, Dig Deep Farms cultivates about 8 acres of grassland next to Camp Sweeney.
Multiple Community Development Block Grants from the Alameda County Housing and Community Development Department funded the build-out of City View Farm, that now is now home to over 500 fruit trees and a wide variety of seasonal crops.
FOOD HUB FARM
The Dig Deep Farms Food Hub, is located on Alameda County land in the San Leandro Hills.
The Food Hub has been open since January 2020, and has become a a focal point to combat food insecurity during COVID-19.
As a home to a thriving chicken coop, we also grow wildflowers, herbs and healthy seasonal produce.

ARDENWOOD FARM
Ardenwood Farm is part of the East Bay Regional Park District's historic park in Fremont of which 90 acres is leased out to DDF to operate. DDF will be adding a second greenhouse to expand on-site plant propagation activities, as well as building out a state-of-the-art post-harvest washing and cooling facility.
Produce grown at this site will mostly be incorporated into the aggregate that meets the growing demand of Food as Rx, but will also be sold to key partners who believe in good food purchasing practices, like the Alameda County Community Food Bank and Bay Cities Produce.

​DDF will also grow pumpkins to maintain the park's annual pumpkin patch festivities.
MASONIC HOMES FARM OF UNION CITY
This 10-acre site located along Mission Blvd. off of May Rd. is the result of a 10-year conversation driven by Alameda Supervisor Richard Valle, in partnership with the ACSO.

This site will further add to the production of regeneratively-grown produce for our main distribution partners in Food as Rx, Alameda County Community Food Bank and Bay Cities Produce.
